Ballarat Wildlife Park

Ballarat Wildlife Park specializes in native Australian animals and a wide variety of exotic reptiles.

From free roaming Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats, Tasmanian Devils, Dingoes, Eagles, Giant Tortoises, Crocodiles and Alligators to a large display of Lizards and both venomous and non-venomous Snakes. Hand feeding the animals was a treat, especially for Jackie.

Sovereign Hill

Sovereign Hill is an open-air museum that depicts Ballarat, Australia’s first ten years after the discovery of gold there in 1851.  Set in the Australian 1850s, the complex is located on a 25-hectare site that is linked to the richest alluvial gold rush in the world. The site comprises over 60 historically recreated buildings, with costumed staff and volunteers. The recreation is completed with antiques, artwork, books and papers, machinery, livestock and animals, carriages, and devices all appropriate to the era.

West Gate Bridge

The West Gate Bridge is a steel, box girder, cable-stayed bridge in Melboune that carries the West Gate Freeway over the Yarra River just north of its mouth into Port Phillip. The high span bridge was built to allow large cargo ships to access the docks in the Yarra River.

The main river span is 336 m (1,102 ft) in length, and the height above the water is 58 m (190 ft). The total length of the bridge is 2,582.6 m (8,473 ft).
