Cartagena, Columbia
The walled historic center of the Old City has numerous winding streets lined with Spanish Colonial architecture with colorfully painted homes, shops, and restaurants.
The Castillo de San Felipe is a fortress built by the Spanish for protection against pirates while shipping gold out to Europe. It was originally constructed in 1536 and later expanded in 1657.
Built atop a hill, this 17th century La Popa Monastery features a chapel, a colonial museum, and a spectacular view of the city. Each February the feast of the Virgen de la Candelaria de La Popa is celebrated, and crowds make a pilgrimage to the top of the hill.
Panama Canal
We did the full transit from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Never a dull moment, especially for an engineer.
Puntarenas, Costa Rica
We went on a lovely boat ride and saw some amazing birds & a tiger face crab. Then we went to Natuwa animal sanctuary and saw some more amazing animals.
Huatulco, Mexico
Our day started on a catamaran-style vessel for a relaxing scenic cruise from the harbor to Tangolunda Bay. The second phase of our tour took us by bus to the charming town of La Crucesita and a boat ride in the estuary of the Copalita River.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Started the morning with a beautiful sunrise. Then went on a whale watching boat ride. Had a very interesting/ entertaining guide, Andrea & Fidel with Vallarta Adventures. God blessed us with another beautiful day.
